College Credit

College Credit at WWTC
WWTC and Cowley College in Arkansas City, Kansas, have come together to form a partnership that will benefit our students. Cowley College offers multiple majors and career pathway possibilities to prepare our students for transfer to a 4-year program or to enter the workforce with a job-ready degree.

College credit is earned for the completion of one of our approved programs. This credit may only be applied to an A.A.S. degree program. The Associates of General Studies degree from Cowley College was developed for students who have obtained 525 hours or more in an approved technical program.

To be eligible for Cowley College graduation, students from WWTC must complete the general education requirements and transfer at least 600 clock hours to receive 32 technical credits, or 26 technical credits for programs with 525-599 clock hours. If students transfer to Cowley College with less than 32 technical credit hours, additional general education courses must be successfully completed before receiving the degree. A minimum of 15 hours of general education coursework is expected to be completed at Cowley College in order for a degree to be granted.

The A.A.S. degree is a technical degree designed for on-campus enrollment or completing the degree online. Students are encouraged to look closely at this opportunity if they are seeking employment upon graduation. This degree is designed to enhance employment opportunities.
